The Puget Sound Genealogical Society
Cemetery Project was created to preserve and document cemeteries in Kitsap County, WA. Preservation
of abandoned cemeteries is important in that several old cemeteries will be lost forever due to vandalism and lack of care.
Documentation of cemeteries includes noting location, listing burials, status of cemetery, among other things. This information
will be available in our Cindy Shawley Spore Genealogial Research Library in Port Orchard, WA and also on our PSGS Web page
for anyone to view who is researching an ancestor who may be buried in the county.
Requests for information in our
cemetery files may be obtained by calling or writing to our research library and prepayment of a $10.00 fee. This fee covers
the cost of researching the cemetery file of interest, postage, envelope and up to five (5) photocopied pages. There will
be an additional charge of fifty (50) cents for each additional page over five (5) pages. The fee for a photo of one (1) tombstone
is $15.00.
