Doyle Cemetery

This private family cemetery is located in the southern part of Kitsap County, off Wildwood Road.

T23N R1E Section 27.

Driving Directions: Due to request of descendants of the Doyle and Stewart families, directions are not given to the cemetery.

This cemetery was last read in August of 2009 by the Puget Sound Genealogical Society.

This old cemetery is set deep in the woods on the old John Doyle homestead property which today is private land. The 160 acre homestead was acquired in 1880 by John Doyle and three acres were set aside for the cemetery. Today only about one quarter of an acre is fenced in with burials within the fence. The cemetery is maintained and still used today by descendants of John and Elizabeth Doyle.

Walking through the large double chain link gates one sees a large tree. At its base is a wooden lawn chair set in cement. No headstone. There appears to be 15 burials in this cemetery including one metal funeral home marker with a patent number on it but no name. The insert had long since disintegrated due to the elements. The earliest burial seems to be in 1896 and the latest in 2008.
