The Backtracker, our quarterly newsletter is published in March, June, September, and December. The
deadline for articles to be submitted is on the first day of the preceeding month.
The purpose of our
newsletter is threefold. Its primary function is to report the Society's
upcoming events, general news and member services. In other words, it is our principal communication link with our membership.
The second cause for our existence is to provide an educational forum for enhancing our knowledge of family history
research methods and strategies.
The last and equally important aspiration of this journal is to provide a medium
in which our membership can have their genealogical stories published.
If possible, when submitting an article for
publication, include a copy of relevant antique photograph or map. I am looking for items that will help illustrate the tale
you are writing.
One of my hopes is that PSGS members
will write family history research adventure stories centered on the Kitsap Peninsula.
Articles that have one or more of the main characters residing in our almost insular Arcadia.
In
order to accomplish these objectives, your contributions of genealogical articles, whether a research adventures or self-help
essays, will always be welcome. Queries, book and software reviews, society news items, surname interests and upcoming events
will be appreciated.
Your story submissions to The Backtracker can be in the form of printed copy, legible
handwriting, diskette, or an e-mail attachment. Send articles to Cyril
Taylor, 9877 Cove Way, Port Orchard, WA 98367 or e-mail to: cyril_t_taylor@yahoo.com.
