The Ways and Means Committee meets on the third Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m.
This group of dedicated members plan fundraisers and projects to support the library and the ongoing program of PSGS.
We welcome others to become involved in the planning and staffing of these events. New members will find that it is
a great way to get acquainted with other people.
If you can help with one or more of the events listed below, or if you have any other ideas for fundraisers, please contact
Dorothy Lindquist. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

What's Cooking . . .?
Among your family genealogical treasures, do you have a recipe that has
made its way to you along with the other paraphernalia your ancestors have left? If so, we would like to honor it with
a page in the family heritage cook book that is now being assembled. Family recipes are often handed down in personal
handwriting in a letter, on a card, or even on the back of an envelope. Often there is a story that goes with the recipe
- for example, here is one that goes with a special party lemon meringue pie upside down on a grandmother's clean scrubbed
kitchen floor and what happened then. There might also be a picture of the first known cook for your recipe.
How about sharing your family specials with handwritten copies, a picture of the cook, and a little information
about that person ---either a story about the recipe - or a little memory - or just some statistics. You can bring
them to the library - or to a meeting. Be sure that you have your name on the material so that we can include it on
your page and also so that any originals (pictures, writing, etc.) can be returned safely to you.
If you need further information you can contact Sandie Morrison, Dorothy Lindquist or Marjorie Menees.

Ongoing Fundraisers:
Book Sales
Your donation of used books can help the library in more than one way. First, Marjorie Menees
will select the books that can be used in our library. And second, any books that are not needed will be sold and the
proceeds will help to benefit the library. Madge Norton is the person in charge of this project.

2009 Calendars Are Here
These calendars are great for your personal use and they make great gifts, too. You may
want more than one because there are many ideas for using them, including keeping track of your family research!
You can purchase them at the PSGS Library for $8.00 each.
Contact Karin Burke for more information. She will have them available at the next PSGS
meeting.
-------------
Platinum Discount Dining Cards
We have Platinum Dining Cards again this year. They are $15.00 each and there
are some new businesses and restaurants included. You really can have a free lunch when you purchase one at the regular
price!
Your savings will soon cover your card purchase AND MORE! It's a great way to enjoy something new and help PSGS at the same time. What a bargain! See Jeanne Menchenton
for more information.
-------------
Recycling Cell Phones and Printer Cartridges
(We are no longer collecting cell phones and printer cartridges
for recycling. Thank you for your support in the past.)
-------------
Raffle Items
At each monthly meeting we have a drawing with prizes available to win. This project
puts the FUN back into FUNdraising. If you are interested in making a donation of merchandise for the drawing contact
someone on the Ways and Means Committee and let them know.
