The Education Committee is responsible for planning classes as well as other educational opportunities to help families
researching their family history. The members of this committee coordinate and plan educational events which meet
the needs of all levels from beginners to more experienced researchers.
From the beginning introduction to genealogy in Genealogy 101 to the more advanced specialized classes we help people
to discover facts about their ancestors and provide the tools and techniques to help them.
Classes are usually planned for the first Monday in each month and sometimes on Saturdays. Check the calendar
for information about the schedule. ALL CLASSES ARE FREE FOR MEMBERS. There is a $10.00 fee
for non-members. The introductory workshop, 'Genealogy 101", is free for everyone. Be sure to make a reservation
at least a week before the scheduled event by mailing a check to:

The Education Committee also co-ordinates with the First Vice President who is in charge of programs for our monthly
general meeting. The meetings are on the fourth Wednesday of each month. See the calendar for details.
Each year we have sponsored a seminar, usually in September, in which we invite one or more well-known speakers
to participate. In 2008 the Belfair Chapter of the PSGS is planning to sponsor the seminar.
Marge Menees is the Chairperson for the Education committee.
